My Goals for 2009

January 6th, 2009

Following are the list of goals that i will strive to achieve in this new year:

1. Getting disciplined:

I am a pathetic loser when it comes to self-discipline. I might be one of the laziest guys around. People around me say that i am talented, intelligent, blah blah… But as a matter of fact, i understand that without discipline and organization, I can’t keep moving forward successfully. So this year, my priority is to get organized and discipline myself.

2. Getting into the right shape:

Don’t mistake me - I am not hoping for a six-pack abs or fancying to develop well defined pecs.. All i want is to shed my excess pounds and get into the right shape. Thanks to my new day job, i left gymming and added few more extra pounds due to lesser physical activities. The only reason that this is my #2 priority is once i get disciplined, getting into the right shape is going to be much easier than before.

3. Make excellent progress in my career:

I graduated from college 4 months ago, and am working as an SEO Executive since 3 months. I love my job, and doing my best to contribute to my company and my clients. Currently i might not be the most productive member, but i have a set of strategies that i will implement to get to that level. Thanks to my bosses who are really a class apart, i am getting their support to excel in my career. I will share my ranging from my ’stupidities’ so you will learn from my mistakes ;), and i will also share a few of my actions that lead to milestone achievements.

4. (Re)Touching base with Music:

People who know me at a personal level tell me that i don\’t utilize my talent in music. I come from a family of musical background, and i have learnt classical violin for about 8 years. This gave me a strong understanding of music, and gave me a confidence to easily learn any musical instrument. Since then, i had practiced Piano, straight flute and guitar. I started learning them with much enthusiasm, but failed to become proficient in it due to my laziness/distractions. See, i told you that i was a loser when it comes to self-discipline! So this new year - I am going to give importance to practicing music whenever i can.

5. Building a passive income stream:

We’ve got to accept the fact that we are now living in an unpredictable scenario where job security is merely a joke. The need to have a plan B, or something to fallback on has never been so strong as it is now. I will discuss the strategies as and when i make progress on this.

6. Relationships:

An area that i need a huge improvement. The only reason that this is at the bottom of the list is because i believe that my relationships will improve as and when i make progress in the areas above.  I hope that i find my girl this year ;)
